statement_MasauR

My work is characterized by a constant curiosity to know, explore and incorporate new techniques and possibilities to the language of printmaking and photography; with the finality of investigate and merge elements rarely implemented in the graphic creation.

Two disciplines that provide countless nuances to be mixed and show me a tremendous range of opportunities to discover new possibilities every day, and create "my stories", transmuting my pieces in a story of reflections.

Mi trabajo se caracteriza por una constante inquietud por conocer, explorar e incorporar nuevas técnicas y posibilidades al lenguaje del grabado y la fotografía; con el fin de investigar y fusionar elementos raramente implementados a la creación gráfica.

Dos disciplinas que se aportan una infinidad de matices, que se enriquecen mutuamente y ponen ante mí un tremendo abanico de posibilidades que trato de descubrir cada día para contar “mis historias”, trasmutando mis piezas en un relato de reflexiones.

MasauR, born in Madrid, when her destiny seemed to direct she to the creative world of advertising, in 2001 unexpectedly gift break into her life, this will be the beginning of her career in the discipline of intaglio; in 2002 started to study photography; and in 2004 merged the two disciplines with Photopolymer Technique. She extended her knowledge over the years, in courses and workshops by renowned photographers and engraving artists.

In her artistic career significant events are the creation of the Association ADOS; the delivery of her work “Ad Libitum” in the honourable mentions of culture Alcobendas in 2007; the National Chalcographical selected in 2008 her work "Babel under construction", for the exhibition "The Art of Technique 2"; her participation in FEM Festival in Madrid as a membership of ados, with the project "concaten_ados” in 2008 and “concaten_ados chapter II” in 2009; during the celebration of Estampa International Print and Contemporary Art Editions Fair, she is awarded with the prestigious Engraving Fellowship of Casa Falconieri; in 2010 her work "cuestión de opiniones" becomes part of the funds of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid and “Oblivious” in the National Library’s fund; in 2011 is selected in the Biennale of Queretaro (Mexico) and in the Andante Project; in 2012 is chosen to participate in the projects “Mulheres e as Babuchas”, “Luna Azul” and “12x12=144cómplices”; and exhibited her artworks in the gallery Barcel-one in the First Edition of FIG Bilbao; in 2013 the Project "Mulheres e as slippers" is exhibited in Oporto, Lisbon and Paris, was invited to an art laboratory in Falconieri House, and took part in two new Collective Projects “EverywherePrints” and “Assobiador” (Portugal). Starts 2014 showing a new project in SetUp Contemporary Art Fair (Bologna-Italy) being part of the casa falconieri´s booth, also the final work created in the Art laboratory is showed in Nivola Museum (Serdiana) and two pieces of “Maraña” are in the collective exhibition “50 artistas de dentro e fora” in Portugal.

Her works have been present every year, in every edition of the International Fair ESTAMPA, since 2005 to 2011; and in Fig Bilbao since 2012. Her work could be found in private and institutional collection; among those are: Albeda College (Rotterdam), Fondo de Grabado Villa Cebreros (Avila), Teatro Madrid, Estamparte Gallery, Museum of Guanlan (China), Museum of the Arts Printmaking (A Coruña), National Library (Madrid), Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid ... among others.
